Position Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced OpenStack Specialist to join our Cloud Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for architecting, deploying, and supporting OpenStack-based private cloud environments for enterprise clients. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud architecture, systems integration, and automation within OpenStack ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust OpenStack infrastructure aligned with client requirements
- Configure and manage core OpenStack services including Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone, and Horizon
- Automate deployment and configuration using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Heat
- Integrate OpenStack environments with external identity services (LDAP, Keystone federation) and storage platforms (Ceph, NFS, iSCSI)
- Implement advanced networking features including SDN, VLAN, VXLAN, and firewall-as-a-service
- Conduct performance tuning, security hardening, and capacity planning
- Provide troubleshooting and escalation support across the full stack
- Document architecture, standard operating procedures, and technical runbooks
- Stay current with community releases and contribute insights to internal architecture decisions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- OpenStack certification (e.g., COA – Certified OpenStack Administrator or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with OpenStack in enterprise or service provider environments
- Proven expertise in Linux administration (preferably RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu)
- Strong grasp of virtualization (KVM/QEMU) and SDN/NFV concepts
- Experience with private cloud deployment, scaling, and lifecycle management
- Proficiency with infrastructure automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Heat)
- Solid understanding of networking protocols, security concepts, and storage backends (Ceph, Swift, etc.)
- Excellent scripting skills (Python, Bash)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and DevSecOps practices
- Exposure to hybrid cloud integration (OpenStack with AWS, Azure, or VMware)
- Prior involvement in OpenStack community or code contributions
- Experience with monitoring and logging platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
